There are many opportunities at Zion to become involved – you are always welcomed and invited to participate in any of the activities listed.

Sunday School and Bible class

Every Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. adults and children gather for an opening devotion in the multi-purpose room prior to their respective classes. Pastor leads the adult class while various other members teach the children’s classes.

Wednesday Bible classes

There are two mid-week opportunities on Wednesdays to learn more about His word. A morning Bible class is held twice per month at 10:00 a.m. in the multi-purpose room and a weekly evening Bible class is held at 8:00 a.m. immediately after choir practice.

Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML)

The LWML is a women’s organization that provides many stewardship, fellowship, and witness activities. All women from Zion are invited to attend their meetings or participate in their many activities – check the monthly calendar for their meeting times or special events.

Adult choir

The members of the adult choir love to sing and gather in Christian fellowship. Anyone who enjoys singing is invited to join. The choir practices every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the church choir loft.

Thrivent for Lutherans (TFL)

TFL is an organization that provides many mission-related activities and matching funds programs for our congregation, the local community, and at broad both in our nation and internationally.

Youth

The youth group consisting of upper-grade elementary and high school students meets quarterly for their meetings and they also have on-going activities during the course of the year.

Ladies Luncheon

The ladies of the church meet on the second Tuesday of each month at a local restaurant to enjoy Christian fellowship – this time while someone else does the cooking.

Parent Teachers League (PTL)

The parents of the school children meet periodically to plan programs, events, and fund-raising activities for the school and children. All parents at Zion School are invited to attend and participate in PTL activities.

Summer softball team

Our summer softball team – the Zion Lutes (short for Lutherans) – participate in the local church softball league. We may not be good enough to win the World Series but we certainly enjoy the fellowship and competition. All are invited to participate – whether you can catch, throw, or hit a ball or not.

Councils and Committees

There are a variety of councils and committees that members can be involved in, i.e. Evangelism, Stewardship, Property, etc. Please speak with Pastor, the chairman of the congregation, or any member of these committees and councils to see how you can be involved, too.
